ROLE STATEMENT

Responsible for managing and delivering automation testing projects and mentoring junior automation

testing staff. Has prior experience in dealing with clients from a technical support perspective. Supports

and mentors Junior Consultants during projects to ensure the quality of delivery and application of NCS’s

methodology.

This position operates under close supervision, and autonomy will increase with the individual's growing

skill level.

• Associate Test Engineer

• Hybrid Test Analyst

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE:

1. Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent

2. Excellent knowledge of the software development lifecycle

3. Knowledge of software development and testing methodologies

• Describe agile software development methods or approaches

• Describe the pros and cons of agile software development

• Describe the pros and cons of waterfall software development

• Explain what the Waterfall methodology is

• Explain what the V Model is

• Explain what Agile software development is

• Explain what is meant by non-functional testing

• Explain what Load and Stress Testing is

• Explain what RQA is

• Explain what Usability is

• Explain what relational databases are

• Explain what virtualisation is

• Explain the considerations in approach for testing web services

• Explain the considerations in approach for testing websites

• Explain the considerations in approach for testing mobile websites and applications

4. Can explain the difference between customer service and customer experience

5. Understand design patterns and clean coding concepts

6. Knowledge of OOP languages such as C# / Python / Java

EXPERIENCE

As a guide, it is expected that the person performing this role has 2 years prior’ experience in using

• Test management tools

• Test automation tools

• Conducting testing on a range of systems and technologies

• Working on large testing projects and multi-vendor environments

• Customer service experience is desirable

• Scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript/Typescript

• Coding, amending, and refactoring moderately complex programs/scripts

• Exposure to the use of existing automation/DevOps methods and tools

• Version control software (e.g. GitHub)

• RPA and/or Automated tools like Selenium, Appium, Postman, Cypress, TOSCA, Power Automate

etc.

• Assists in developing and implementing data pipelines and data stores
