The Service Advisor serves as the main liaison between customers and the service department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to their vehicle concerns and service needs.
  • Document customer complaints, vehicle issues, and requested services clearly and accurately on job orders.
  • Provide service recommendations, explain technical details in layman’s terms, and obtain customer approvals for work to be done.
  • Coordinate with Service Admins to ensure accurate diagnostics and efficient repair processes.
  • Communicate repair status, cost estimates, and completion times to customers regularly.
  • Review completed work orders with customers, ensuring they understand the services performed and associated costs.
  • Handle customer complaints or concerns in a professional and solution-oriented manner.
  • Promote and upsell additional services, preventive maintenance, and promotions when appropriate.
  • Maintain service records, warranty claims, and follow-up schedules.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction to foster long-term relationships and repeat business.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Proven experience as a Service Advisor or in a customer service role within the automotive industry.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, repair procedures, and preventive maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in service management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Customer-focused with problem-solving abilities.
