Job Description:

The Solutions Designer is responsible for designing integrated audio-visual and control systems that meet client specifications, budgets, and project constraints. This role is central ability to deliver intelligent environments, ensuring that every solution is technically sound, commercially viable, and ready for seamless handover to the delivery team. 

Collaborate with the Team and Customers to scope, design, and document AV and control solutions for commercial, education, hospitality, and public sector clients. The Solutions Designer works closely with sales, project management, and technical teams to ensure solutions are achievable within time, budget, and resource constraints, and that proposals are accurate, competitive, and aligned with the standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Core Role Functions

• Design AV systems to meet client specifications and budgets

• Develop drawings from concept to engineered “For Construction” revisions

• Prepare projects using internal systems for handover to project delivery team

• Provide technical advice to Project Managers during installation

• Assist Sales and PM teams with documentation for design changes during project lifecycle

• Support post-sales engineering and troubleshooting

• Assist Installation and Service/Facilities Managers with Tier 2–3 technical issues

• Assist with AsBuilt documentation and Operating Manuals

Systems Stewardship

• Collaborate with the Management team to refine quoting/design processes and reporting

• Develop quoting and design templates for repeat clients

General Duties & Responsibilities

• Be punctual and work the hours and times specified

• Prioritise workload to ensure high-impact tasks are completed with accuracy, urgency and quality

• Support and help develop a positive workplace culture

• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills

• Manage business resources responsibly

• Comply with all employment obligations and health & safety standards

• Undertake all duties as required by the business

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year in AV design or engineering

• Experience with D-Tools (preferred)

• Time “on-the-tools” desirable but not required
