Job Summary

The Senior HR Specialist in Labor Relations plays a critical role in handling complex labor relations issues and ensuring consistent application of company policies and labor law compliance. This position is responsible for leading the preparation, administration, and monitoring of disciplinary documentation such as Notices to Explain (NTE), Notices of Corrective Action (NCA), and managing escalated employee relations cases. The Senior HR Specialist also acts as a key representative in external labor mediations and internal investigations, working closely with the HR team, legal counsel, and department heads to support a positive work environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end process for disciplinary documentation, including NTEs, NCAs, Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), and Show-Cause Orders, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with company policy.
  • Lead the delivery and tracking of Termination Notices and Demand Letters, coordinating with legal and departmental managers as needed.
  • Serve as one of the company’s representatives for the company in Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) hearings, Single-Entry Approach (SENA) mediations, and other labor dispute resolutions, advocating for the company’s position.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex employee relations concerns, providing expert guidance on policy interpretation and compliance matters.
  • Conduct in-depth investigations into employee complaints or grievances, gathering documentation, interviewing relevant parties, and providing actionable recommendations to management.
  • Partner with the Legal team, People and Culture, and department leads to ensure timely, fair, and thorough resolution of investigations, advising on recommended actions.
  • Review and analyze performance feedback to maintain consistency and provide strategic support to Team Leads on effective feedback communication and documentation.
  • Take an active role in HR planning, including identifying trends in employee relations issues, recommending improvements, and supporting related project initiatives.

REPORTS/Other Tasks

  • Respond to escalated employee concerns through email, chat, or calls, and facilitate resolutions.
  • Assist in strategic HR planning and employee relations project development.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field. A degree in Human Resources or Psychology major.

Experience

  • At least 4 to 5 years of experience as an HR practitioner.

Skills & Competencies

  • Advanced understanding of labor laws and compliance requirements, with proven experience in handling complex labor relations matters.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with robust organizational skills and the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and proactive in providing solutions.
  • Discretion, patience, and tact in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Proficient in documentation management, both online and offline, ensuring timely and accurate record-keeping.

Work Location And Schedule

  • Cebu based candidates 3x a week in the office; Midshift (1-3PM to 10PM to 12MN)
