Description

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and maintenance of mechanical systems and components. What you'll be doing

1. Before Purchase Order (BPO) Work

1) Prepare and review Material Requisitions and Technical Specification Sheets for mechanical

equipment

2) Review vendor technical proposals and provide technical evaluations for mechanical

equipment

3) Participate in technical bid clarification meetings with vendors

4) Participate in vendor selection process

2. After Purchase Order (APO):

1) Review and approve vendor drawings and technical documents

2) Manage technical communication with vendors to finalize equipment specifications

3) Expedite vendor document submissions according to project schedule

4) Prepare approval documents for client review and coordinate responses to client comments

5) Compile and organize installation instructions and requirements for construction

contractors

6) Monitor manufacturing progress and testing activities coordinating with Procurement Team.

7) Review and develop equipment maintenance manuals

8) Review and develop equipment inspection procedures

9) Attend factory acceptance tests as required

10) Supervise equipment commissioning activities

3. Technical Communication & Client Interface

1) Respond to and resolve technical queries from client

2) Prepare technical clarification responses for client review comments

3) Document technical decisions and maintain communication records

4) Participate in client technical meetings and design reviews

5) Prepare technical deviation requests when required

6) Conduct regular site visits to ensure proper installation

7) Monitor construction progress and quality control

4. Interdisciplinary Coordination

1) Provide timely mechanical equipment information to Civil Engineering team, including:

  • Equipment foundation requirements and loads
  • Anchor bolt layouts and specifications
  • Equipment access and maintenance space requirements
  • Embedded plate locations and specifications
  • Equipment installation sequence requirements
  • Dynamic loads and vibration considerations

2) Participate in regular coordination meetings with Civil Engineering team

3) Review civil drawings to ensure mechanical equipment requirements are properly

incorporated

4) Coordinate with Civil Engineering team for equipment installation methodology

5. Report and Documentation

1) Provide regular status reports to Engineering Manager on design progress, issues, and

solutions

2) Develop and maintain project schedules for mechanical design work

3) Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies

4) Report critical technical issues promptly with proposed solutions

5) Document and communicate lessons learned

6) Maintain clear communication channels with all stakeholders

Requirements

1) Experience in wastewater treatment plant projects

2) Experience in managing offshore equipment vendor

3) Familiarity with EPC project execution

4) Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field

5) Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical equipment design for industrial plants

  • With PRC License is an advantage

7) Strong knowledge of international engineering standards

8) Knowledge of Philippine Codes & Standards and Regulations

9) Experience in coordination with Civil, Process, Piping and Electrical engineers

10) Experience in offshore vendor technical evaluation and management

11) Experience in team leadership and mentoring junior engineers
