Project Site Engineer – Key Responsibilities
1. Site Supervision and Coordination
- Oversee day-to-day construction activities and ensure work is carried out according to plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Coordinate with foremen, subcontractors, and workers to ensure proper execution of tasks.
- Conduct daily toolbox meetings to discuss site activities, safety reminders, and work progress.
2. Project Planning and Scheduling
- Prepare and monitor work schedules and manpower allocations.
- Assist in planning the sequence of construction operations to meet project deadlines.
- Identify potential delays and propose corrective actions.
3. Quality Assurance and Control
- Ensure that materials and workmanship meet project standards and approved plans.
- Conduct inspections before, during, and after installation or construction.
- Prepare and maintain quality control checklists and inspection reports.
4. Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare daily activity reports, progress photos, and accomplishment reports.
- Maintain site records including material usage, manpower attendance, and equipment logs.
- Assist in preparing as-built plans and project documentation for turnover.
5. Procurement and Material Management
- Coordinate with the purchasing or logistics team for timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Check and verify quantities of materials delivered to site.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and usage of materials to minimize wastage.
6. Safety and Compliance
- Enforce company safety policies and ensure all workers comply with DOLE and project safety requirements.
- Identify and report unsafe acts or conditions on site.
- Work closely with the Site Safety Officer to maintain a safe work environment.
7. Coordination with Stakeholders
- Liaise with clients, consultants, architects, and project managers regarding site concerns.
- Attend coordination meetings and submit updates on project status.
- Address site issues and propose practical engineering solutions.
8. Technical Support
- Interpret and explain plans and drawings to workers and subcontractors.
- Assist in surveying, layout, and structural measurements as needed.
- Provide technical guidance to foremen and skilled workers.
9. Cost and Resource Control
- Monitor labor, materials, and equipment usage to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Assist in preparing quantity take-offs and cost estimates for variation orders.
- Report any potential cost overruns or wastage to management.
10. Project Handover
- Assist in punch listing and rectification of deficiencies prior to turnover.
- Prepare necessary documentation for project completion and client acceptance.
