Quality Engineer (Manual QA)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer (Manual QA) who can ensure the reliability, accuracy, and quality of our production systems. This role requires someone who is deeply committed to structured testing, clear test planning, and rigorous regression cycles—treating QA as a core function, not an afterthought.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting multi-sprint delivery, understands technical workflows, and is confident collaborating closely with developers and product teams. Experience in healthcare or regulated environments is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Execution

  • Develop clear, detailed, and complete test cases, test scenarios, and acceptance criteria for all features.
  • Plan and execute manual functional testing, integration testing, and regression testing across multiple sprints.
  • Validate user stories and requirements to ensure completeness and testability before development begins.

Quality Assurance & Regression

  • Perform consistent and thorough regression testing before each release to ensure reliability and stability.
  • Maintain and evolve a structured regression suite covering critical paths and high-risk areas.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of expected behavior vs. actual behavior.

Bug Reporting & Quality Control

  • Create structured, detailed, and reproducible bug reports with proper severity and priority tagging.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and collaborate with developers to resolve systemic problems.
  • Track defects from identification to closure and ensure fixes are verified within the sprint or release cycle.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with developers, PMs, and product owners to clarify requirements, triage issues, and align on release readiness.
  • Provide clear communication regarding testing coverage, risks, and quality concerns.
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies and proactively identify blockers or potential defects early in the cycle.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years experience as a Manual QA, Quality Engineer, or Software Tester.
  • Experience testing production systems, not accepting fresh graduates.
  • Strong experience with multi-sprint agile delivery, preferably across concurrent projects.
  • Strong familiarity with test planning, functional testing, and regression testing.
  • Technical understanding sufficient to collaborate with developers (ability to read or write code is a strong plus).
  • Experience in healthcare, regulated industries, or environments where data integrity, reliability, and auditability are mandatory.
  • Ability to create structured, high-quality test documentation (test cases, checklists, reports).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Experience using bug-tracking or project management tools (Jira, Monday.com, Paymo, etc.).

Preferred Skills

  • Basic scripting or coding experience (bonus).
  • Experience with API testing tools (Postman, etc.).
  • Knowledge of QA methodologies, SDLC, and release management processes.
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis frameworks.
