The QC Support (Commissary) is responsible for ensuring that all food products produced in the commissary meet established quality and safety standards. This role supports the implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), quality inspection protocols, and food safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.


The position also assists in the investigation of product and process deviations, participates in continuous improvement initiatives, and coordinates closely with production to maintain efficient and safe operations.


Key Responsibilities Quality Control & Assurance

  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company quality standards at all times.
  • Inspect facilities, equipment, products, and production lines to ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Develop and implement inspection, sampling, and testing protocols for materials, products, and packaging.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aligned with regulatory, industry, and organizational requirements.
  • Establish SOPs and conditions for handling, storage, and preservation of samples.
  • Verify alignment of sampling documentation, testing activities, and procedures with established protocols.
  • Review and verify QC records, test results, and reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Lead or support traceability investigations for quality lapses or product-related issues.
  • Oversee corrective and preventive action (CCAR) implementation and documentation in coordination with other departments.


Production Support

  • Ensure production lines consistently meet product quality, safety, and performance standards.
  • Support the timely provision of all branch orders, product needs, and requisitions.
  • Assist in the production of various pastry, beverage, processed, and pre-processed items.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the production area, equipment, and utensils.
  • Monitor and report functionality of all production equipment and ensure timely repairs or replacements.
  • Assist with research and development (R&D) tasks as assigned by the Commissary Manager.
  • Help address production concerns to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.


Documentation & Reporting

  • Analyze potential causes of product defects, process deviations, and quality lapses.
  • Prepare detailed reports on quality and production outcomes, non-conformities, and corrective actions.
  • Participate in quality management system (QMS) reviews and promote quality and food safety awareness among all personnel.
  • Review and develop guidelines for data documentation, recordkeeping, and analysis.
  • Prepare and submit product samples to clients as needed.


Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Support implementation of strategies to ensure the provision of safe and high-quality food products.
  • Investigate technical faults and operational practices that affect production performance.
  • Promote adherence to company rules, regulations, and food safety programs.
  • Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement activities aimed at enhancing quality systems.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 1–3 years of experience in a food manufacturing, commissary, or quality control environment.
  • Strong understanding of GMP, HACCP, and Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS).
  • Proficient in preparing QC reports, documentation, and sampling plans.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; able to coordinate effectively with production and management teams.
