The Thomson Reuters’ M&A Integration and Separations Management Office is seeking a skilled and highly motivated Senior Director / Director of M&A Integration and Separation. In this role, the Senior Director / Director of M&A Integration and Separation will oversee the scope, time, and costs of complex projects while working with senior leadership and business partners to achieve strategic business objectives. The Senior Director / Director of M&A Integration and Separation will manage the entire lifecycle of projects from definition through to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
About The Role
In this opportunity as
Senior Director of M&A Integration and Separation, you will:
- Lead integrations and separations projects to achieve deal objectives within scope, time, and cost to agreed levels of quality.
- Champion and enhance the M&A’s integration and separation framework.
- Define, document, and manage large-scale projects with minimal supervision, working with cross-functional teams that may have differing priorities and working/cultural practices.
- Oversee all phases of the project or specific phases of larger projects.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks to the success of the project.
- Effectively manage project team conflicts, build collaborative partnerships with stakeholders, and make informed decisions.
- Estimate costs, timelines, and resource requirements for the successful completion of each project to agreed scope and constraints.
- Prepare and maintain project plans and track performance against the plan.
- Implement effective communication plans and operating rhythms, including provision of regular and accurate reports.
- Monitor costs, timelines, and resources used, and take action where these deviate from the agreed plan. Ensure that deliverables are implemented within these criteria.
- Manage change control, gaining agreement for revisions from project stakeholders.
- Demonstrate effective leadership to the project team, ensuring members are motivated and developing their skills and experience.
- Escalate risks and issues to senior M&A leaders and project leadership.
About You
You’re a fit for the role of
Senior Director of M&A Integration and Separation if your background includes:
- 8-10+ years of Project Management experience, with a focus on M&A integration and separation.
- Proven ability to create detailed project plans, set milestones, and coordinate tasks effectively.
- Expertise in identifying potential risks associated with the M&A process and developing strategies to mitigate them.
- Strong schedule management skills to ensure that M&A projects stay on schedule and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with various stakeholders, including executives, employees, and external partners. Ability to partner effectively in a highly matrixed organization.
- Strong business acumen to understand the broader business context and how the M&A aligns with the overall strategy of the organizations involved.
- Analytical skills to analyze data and make informed recommendations that align with the strategic goals of the merged entity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools such as Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and familiarity with project management software to facilitate efficient collaboration and communication.
- Financial analysis skills to analyze financial data related to the M&A, including valuations, cost structures, and financial projections.
- Experience in managing budgets allocated for the M&A process and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Preferred certifications: Project management or Agile certification (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster, Professional ScrumMaster, PMP, PMI-ACP, or similar).
