Job Description

Position Summary

The IT L3 Systems Administrator is a senior technical expert responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of the company's core IT infrastructure. This role serves as the final escalation point for complex technical issues, ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our servers, networks, and cloud services. The L3 Administrator will also lead infrastructure projects and provide mentorship to junior IT staff.


Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, configure, and maintain physical and virtual server environments (e.g., Windows Server, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Cloud Administration: Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS), including virtual machines, storage, networking, and identity access management.
  • Network & Security: Configure and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and security solutions. Implement and monitor security policies, manage vulnerability assessments, and support incident response.
  • Advanced Technical Support: Serve as the final escalation point (Tier 3) for complex incidents and service requests from L1 and L2 support teams, performing advanced root-cause analysis.
  • System Maintenance & Monitoring: Proactively monitor system performance, integrity, and security. Manage enterprise backup and disaster recovery (DR) solutions and execute regular testing.
  • Core Services: Administer and maintain core infrastructure services, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and O365/M365 environments.
  • Project Leadership: Lead or act as a key technical resource on IT infrastructure projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations.
  • Documentation & Mentorship: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all systems and procedures. Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to L1 and L2 support staff.



Qualifications & Specifications

1. Educational attainment: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

2. Years of relevant experience: 5-8+ years of progressive experience in systems administration, network engineering, or IT infrastructure support.

3. Area/s of experience:

  • Expert-level experience with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and/or Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu).
  • Strong hands-on experience with virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V).
  • Demonstrable experience managing cloud environments (Microsoft Azure or AWS).
  • Experience with enterprise networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls) and security principles.

4. Knowledge:

  • Deep knowledge of scripting for automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
  • Strong understanding of backup and disaster recovery (DR) methodologies.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and other core Microsoft services.

5. Skills:

  • Advanced analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

6. Competencies:

  • Strategic thinking and ability to see long-term implications.
  • Leadership and mentoring capability.
  • High degree
