As a Principal Engineer & Team Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our POS solutions, combining hands-on development with leadership. Leveraging your expertise in cloud-based front-end and back-end development, you’ll define technical strategies, mentor a talented team, and implement best practices to ensure scalable, robust, and high-quality applications that meet dynamic customer demands.

Salary: PHP 140,000 - PHP 240,000

What Your Day Looks Like

• Design, develop, and deploy POS applications using Java, Spring, and Angular frameworks, ensuring quality, scalability, and maintainability.
• Lead and mentor a team of developers, setting goals, managing priorities, and fostering a culture of accountability and technical excellence.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and stakeholders across teams in the Philippines and Australia to define requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Drive the adoption of cloud-native architecture on the Google Cloud Platform, implement robust CI/CD practices, and integrate monitoring and automated deployment tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Establish and optimize Agile workflows, code review standards, and testing processes to improve team efficiency and code quality.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices in coding, architecture, and security to ensure long-term maintainability of solutions.
• Research and introduce emerging technologies and methodologies to continuously enhance the technology stack.
• Build and sustain a collaborative and innovative engineering culture, promoting knowledge sharing and teamwork across geographies.

The Expertise We Value

• 8+ years of experience in software development with expertise in Java, Spring, and Angular.
• 3+ years of experience in a senior or principal engineering role with team leadership responsibilities, preferably in the POS or similar software domain.
• Product development experience, including end-to-end involvement from requirements gathering to deployment.
• Proven experience designing and implementing high-performance, scalable cloud and software solutions.
• Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, with a proactive attitude toward learning new technologies and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team.
• Exceptional written and spoken English communication skills, with experience collaborating and managing geographically distributed teams.
• Solid background in agile and scrum-based development practices.
