Description
We are looking for a Senior Programmer with a strong background in developing scalable, secure, and user-focused applications, specifically in the property management domain. You will be instrumental in building, maintaining, and enhancing our Inventi-based solutions that streamline property operations, tenant management, billing, and customer experience.
As a Senior Programmer, you will lead in translating complex business requirements into robust software systems and integrations. You will work closely with stakeholders, QA engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver high-quality applications with great user experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain applications and databases used for property management, including lease management, billing, maintenance tracking, tenant portals, and analytics dashboards.
- Analyze and gather client and internal team requirements to ensure scalable system architecture and clean code delivery.
- Translate functional needs into technical designs, data models, and application workflows tailored to the property management lifecycle.
- Develop RESTful API integrations between Inventi and third-party systems such as payment gateways, CRM platforms, e-commerce solutions (e.g., Shopify), IoT/smart metering, or accounting software.
- Lead or contribute to the development and deployment of serverless applications (AWS Lambda or equivalent) and automated back-end tasks.
- Implement best practices in code review, unit testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Ensure data accuracy and security, particularly in tenant/owner records, financial transactions, and system logs.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues efficiently, with a proactive approach to minimizing downtime.
- Create and maintain internal and end-user documentation, including manuals, system architecture diagrams, and support materials.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to process improvement within the development team.
Skills and Qualifications:Core Technical Skills:
- Proficient in: Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP, Python
- Hands-on experience with Serverless AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch)
- Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, OAuth, Webhooks, and system integrations
- Familiarity with Shopify customization and plug-in development for e-commerce integrations
- Strong grasp of database design, ORM frameworks, and performance tuning
- Proficiency in source control systems like Git
Domain-Specific Expertise:
- Experience with property management systems (e.g., Inventi, Yardi, Buildium, AppFolio) or similar enterprise platforms
- Understanding of tenant lifecycle, lease workflows, utility tracking, and property billing systems
- Bonus: Exposure to smart building technologies, IoT integrations (e.g., water/power metering), or real estate CRM tools
Development Process & Soft Skills:
- Skilled in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
- Strong skills in problem-solving, debugging, documentation, and quality assurance
- Excellent communication and teamwork, with the ability to collaborate across departments
- High attention to detail and commitment to secure, scalable code
Preferred Experience:
- 5+ years of full-stack development experience, including architecture and infrastructure planning
- Prior experience in SaaS platforms or custom software for multi-tenant environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
