Job Summary:
The Legal Manager is responsible for overseeing all legal matters within the company, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, mitigating legal risks, and providing legal guidance on corporate and operational matters. This role involves drafting and reviewing contracts, handling litigation and disputes, managing regulatory compliance, and advising management on business strategies from a legal perspective.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Legal Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure the company complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Monitor changes in laws and regulations that may impact business operations.
2. Contract Management & Negotiation
Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts, including supplier agreements, partnerships, and employment contracts.
Ensure that all contracts protect the company’s interests while maintaining compliance with legal requirements.
Manage contract renewals, terminations, and dispute resolutions.
3. Corporate Governance & Regulatory Compliance
Ensure adherence to corporate governance policies and procedures.
Handle legal documentation and regulatory filings as required by government agencies.
Advise senior management and board members on governance and compliance matters.
4. Litigation & Dispute Resolution
Represent the company in legal disputes, arbitration, and litigation proceedings.
Work with external legal counsel to manage lawsuits and legal claims effectively.
Develop legal defense strategies and settlement negotiations.
5. Employment & Labor Law Advisory
Provide legal guidance on employee relations, contracts, and labor laws.
Ensure compliance with labor regulations, employee rights, and workplace policies.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB or Juris Doctor); must be a licensed attorney.
5+ years of experience in corporate law, legal advisory, or in-house counsel roles.
Strong knowledge of corporate, labor, contract, and regulatory law.
Experience in contract negotiation, litigation management, and compliance.
